AUSTIN, TEXAS (Nov. 12, 2015) — Austin-based multifamily developer Oden Hughes has broken ground on a 389-unit community in Katy that is scheduled to open in the fall of 2016.
Located immediately north of the Katy Gap Road and Kingsland Boulevard intersection, the Kingsland Apartments will offer one, two and three-bedroom units from 582 to 1,375 square feet. Rents are expected to range from $920 to $1,840 a month.
“Katy is one of the fastest growing areas in the region, offering short commutes to several major job centers, excellent schools and a growing number of major retail amenities,” said Oden Hughes Vice President of Development Tim Shaughnessy.
ARA Executive Managing Director David Mitchell said more than 2,300 apartment units have been absorbed in the Katy submarket since 2014.
“Demand for apartments in the Katy area continues to be solid,” Mitchell said. “Overall occupancy in the Katy submarket has risen 3.5 percent in the last six months. Katy’s population recently surpassed that of Pittsburgh and continues to grow, spurring new major retail, office and mixed-use developments to meet the needs of the city’s more than 300,000 residents.”
On-site amenities will include a 24-hour fitness area, resort style pool and sundeck, movie theater, dog park and dog washing station.
Oden Hughes Taylor Construction will be the general contractor. Oden Hughes Management will lease and manage the community.
