As Senior Financial Operations Accountant, you will work with our Construction Financial Operations team members across our four locations. We work together from the very beginning of each project to anticipate challenges and develop solutions before dirt moves so we can build projects on time and within budget.
Reporting to the VP Financial Operations your responsibilities will include:
- Collaboration with regional project management teams on accounting and budgeting
- End to end management of the draw process to include review and preparation of construction draw packages for submittal to owners
- Ensure internal compliance to policies and procedures
- Participate in process improvement initiatives
- Proactively meeting deadlines and accomplishing goals
- Assist in the GAAP closing process
- Prepare WIP schedules
- Provide support during annual audit and insurance audits
With a proven track record, we specifically look for:
- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) with Strong Excel skills
- Curiosity, creativity and persistence when utilizing various cloud based software programs
- Solid understanding of accounting (GAAP)
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Purposeful time management skills supporting the ability to manage multiple projects, operating in a fast paced changing environment
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with Quick books preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4+ years experience, including experience in the real estate or construction industries
- CPA or progress towards one is a plus
- Desire to actively participate with the team on a daily basis
