AUSTIN, TEXAS (Sept. 25, 2019) — Oden Hughes, LLC recently broke ground on the first phase of a multiphase apartment and townhome community in the Dallas Medical District.
The first phase of Lenox Maplewood will include 275 one-and-two-bedroom apartments and 12 three-bedroom townhomes. The first units are scheduled to open in late 2020.
Located at the southwest corner of Denton Drive and Hudnall Street, the site is across the street from the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Inwood/Love Field station and just one rail stop in either direction from Parkland Memorial Hospital and the corporate campus of Southwest Airlines. The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is less than half a mile away.
“This is a premiere site in a growing area with more than 40,000 jobs in the immediate vicinity today,” said Oden Hughes Managing Director Howell Beaver. “This location offers many workers a very short daily commute and immediate proximity to the DART station.”
Oden Hughes has the ability to build at least one more phase, but the timing of any additional phases has not been determined. Zoning on the property allows the developer to build a total of up to 800 units on the site.
The Austin-based company originally purchased 10.4 acres but recently sold one acre at the southeast corner of the site for commercial development.
Shawn Street and Jeremy Lillard of Younger Partners represented Oden Hughes on the transaction. Oden Hughes Construction will build the apartments and townhomes.
The project team for the first residential phase also includes:
- Architect: BGO Architects
- Engineer: Pacheco Koch Consulting Engineers, Inc.
- Landscape Design: Blu Fish Collaborative
- MEP: Jordan & Skala Engineers
- Interior Design: PPDS
