Oden Hughes Starts Multifamily and Commercial Project in San Antonio

AUSTIN, TEXAS (September 5, 2017) — Oden Hughes, LLC will break ground this week on the first phase of a 57-acre multifamily and commercial project in Far North Central San Antonio that includes 338 Class A luxury apartments and nearly 16 acres of commercial property fronting Loop 1604 and Bulverde Road.

Oden Hughes will build, own and manage the apartment community but plans to sell the commercial component in 2018 once site work and infrastructure — including a new street through the site connecting Loop 1604 and Bulverde Road — are completed.

Located at the northwest corner of Loop 1604 and Bulverde, the site was previously owned by the HEB Grocery Company. The property is directly across the highway from a recently opened HEB and a short drive from several major employers including Tesoro, iHeart Media and Methodist Stone Oak Hospital.

“This is a prime location for residential and commercial development in one of the fastest growing parts of San Antonio,” said Oden Hughes Vice President of Development Tim Shaughnessy. “The new HEB has significantly increased traffic to this immediate area, and we think this site is primed to be the next retail hub. The property is also served by some of the best schools in all of San Antonio.”

Built in three phases, the project is expected to eventually include a total of up to 1,000 apartments.

The first 338 units are scheduled to open in late 2018 featuring a two-level pool with waterfall edge, fitness on demand room, running trail and dog park.

Oden Hughes Construction will serve as general contractor on the multifamily project, which was designed by Kelly Grossman Architects. Oden Hughes Management will lease and manage the apartment community.
